Lower Clapton Road, Hackney
Why are we proposing this?
We have identified a higher rate of collisions at this junction compared to comparable roads, including a higher rate of collisions involving pedestrians. In addition we know that, during peak periods and weekends, the junction suffers from vehicle congestion and long delays for pedestrians to cross the road. Therefore we are seeking to implement a scheme that will reduce the number of casualties as well as make the junction more convenient for people to cross.
