Something for you to enjoy outside the castle is the Changing of the Guard ceremony. The ceremony, which takes place at 11:00 and is accompanied by the Regimental Band, lasts for 45 minutes. It really is an impressive display of British military heritage. Make sure to check if the display is taking place on the Castle Forecourt as that will mean the Queen herself is in residence.

Guided Tours

If all the history and culture is a bit too much to take in, a great way to make sure you get the most out of your visit is with a guided tour. One of the best tours is the Private Guided Tour of the State Apartments. The tour is pricey but it takes place when the castle is closed to the public so you can enjoy the castle in a smaller group. The tour also includes a glass of champagne and a guidebook for you to take home when your visit has finished.
